Doctors in Training

We are a training practice which means we support doctors at various stages of their training.  We train doctors at 3 different stages of their training under very supportive and close supervision.

  • Specialist Trainee Level 3 (also known as GP Registrar) – these doctors are in their final year of GP training and work in the practice for 12 months, commencing in August each year.
  • Specialist Trainee Level 2 – these doctors are in their penultimate year year of GP training and work in the practice for 6 months commencing August or February.
  • Foundation Level 2 – these doctors are undertaking a 14 week rotation in General Practice as part of their hospital training.

As part of their development, our doctors in training sometimes need to video their consultations. This is vitally important to help our trainee doctors hone and improve their consultation skills. If the trainee doctor is planning to video a consultation, written consent will be sought from the patient.
